The 83rd Golden Globe Awards honored standout achievements in film, television and new media on Sunday night, January 11, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, with major victories for One Battle After Another and Hamnet, according to official results released by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). The ceremony, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser and broadcast on CBS and Paramount+, also marked new categories and set the tone for the upcoming awards season.
One Battle After Another, a comedic drama directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, was the night’s most celebrated film, winning four Golden Globes including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Director and Best Screenplay for Anderson, and Best Supporting Female Actor for Teyana Taylor. Hamnet, a Shakespeare-inspired drama, claimed Best Motion Picture – Drama with Jessie Buckley winning Best Female Actor in a Drama.
In leading acting categories, Timothée Chalamet won Best Performance by a Male Actor – Musical or Comedy for his role in Marty Supreme, acknowledging his parents, partner Kylie Jenner, and his film’s creative team during his acceptance speech. Wagner Moura took Best Lead Actor in a Drama for “The Secret Agent” while Rose Byrne won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.
Television awards highlighted a diverse field, with The Pitt and The Studio winning Best Drama and Comedy Series, respectively. Netflix’s Adolescence dominated the limited series categories, securing Best Limited Series and acting wins for Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty. For the first time, the Globes recognized excellence in podcasts, with Amy Poehler’s Good Hang With Amy Poehler taking home Best Podcast.
Music honors at the ceremony included KPop Demon Hunters winning Best Animated Feature and its song “Golden” capturing Best Original Song, as well as Ludwig Göransson earning Best Original Score for Sinners. Sarah Jessica Parker received the Carol Burnett Award for her enduring contributions to television.
The Globe Awards, which also featured notable red carpet moments and memorable speeches, reflect industry trends ahead of the Oscars nominations due January 22, 2026.
